SR 95 REALIGNMENT STUDY: I-40 to SR 68
Meeting Details: May 25, 2010 Noon to 2 p.m.
 
The purpose of this information meeting is to give Tribal members an opportunity to provide input on preliminary realignment concepts in accordance with the NEPA process. Comments received from the public during this time and throughout the study will be used in development and evaluation of alignment alternatives along with the No-Build Alternative.
 
The project team, including representatives from ADOT and FHWA will be available at the meetings to provide information, answer questions, and discuss the project with members of our community.

TRIBAL INFRASTRUCTURE PROFILE SURVEY
The Fort Mojave Indian Tribe, with the assistance of Northern Arizona University, is conducting a Tribal Infrastructure Profile of the Reservation. The first step in the process is a survey, which consists of a series of questions pertaining your thoughts and opinions of the tribal infrastructure and economic development assets of the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe. We ask you take a minute to read over the survey and fill it out to the best of your knowledge. There are no right or wrong answers, so feel free to complete the survey in its entirety and return it to the address below no later than April 26, 2010 at 5:00pm (AZ time):

TRIBAL INFRASTRUCTURE PROFILE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ASSESSMENT MEETING WITH NAU
The Planning Department and Northern Arizona University (NAU) will conduct a Tribal Infrastructure Profile and Economic Development Assessment Meeting for the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe on February 5, 2010 at 10:00 am AZ time in the Council Chambers located at 500 Merriman Avenue, Needles, CA.
All Tribal Staff are encouraged to attend. If Managers or Directors cannot attend, please designate a person from the staff to attend. Please RSVP to the Planning Department before February 2, 2010 by either email (waynenelson@fortmojave.com) or by telephone (760.629.4591).

Transportation Grants
The Fort Mojave Indian Tribe has been awarded 3 grants from BIA for 2 Road Projects and Transportation Planning Activities. The two road projects consist of Design and Construction for the Arizona Village Roads and Design for the California Village Roads and Hulet Road.
Floodplain Management
The Tribal Council approved the new Floodplain Management Ordinance of 2009.

Arizona Village Roads

The Fort Mojave Planning Department and WH Pacific conducted a kick-off meeting for the Design of the Arizona Village Roads. The Design portion of the project will last for estimated 14 months. The activities involved will be as follows:
  • Surveying & Mapping
  • Geotechnical Work
  • H&H Study and Analysis
  • Detailed Design Plan & Specifications
  • Environmental Clearance
  • Archaeological Compliance
  • Rights of Way Clearance
